Learning Deep Models for Face Anti-Spoofing: Binary or Auxiliary Supervision
نویسندگان
چکیده
Face anti-spoofing is crucial to prevent face recognition systems from a security breach. Previous deep learning approaches formulate face anti-spoofing as a binary classification problem. Many of them struggle to grasp adequate spoofing cues and generalize poorly. In this paper, we argue the importance of auxiliary supervision to guide the learning toward discriminative and generalizable cues. A CNN-RNN model is learned to estimate the face depth with pixel-wise supervision, and to estimate rPPG signals with sequence-wise supervision. The estimated depth and rPPG are fused to distinguish live vs. spoof faces. Further, we introduce a new face anti-spoofing database that covers a large range of illumination, subject, and pose variations. Experiments show that our model achieves the state-of-theart results on both intraand cross-database testing.

An Intelligent Approach for Anti-Spoofing in a Multimodal Biometric System
Biometric systems are vulnerable to certain type of attacks at various points in the biometric model. A spoofing attack which is submitting a stolen, copied biometric trait to the sensor to gain unauthorized access to the biometric system is one among them. Multimodal biometric systems are designed to increase the accuracy of the biometric system, but they are more vulnerable to spoofing attack...

This paper presents a face liveness detection system against spoofing with photographs, videos, and 3D models of a valid user in a face recognition system. Antispoofing clues inside and outside a face are both exploited in our system. The inside-face clues of spontaneous eyeblinks are employed for anti-spoofing of photographs and 3D models. The outside-face clues of scene context are used for a...

End-to-end training of deep learning-based models allows for implicit learning of intermediate representations based on the final task loss. However, the end-to-end approach ignores the useful domain knowledge encoded in explicit intermediate-level supervision. We hypothesize that using intermediate representations as auxiliary supervision at lower levels of deep networks may be a good way of c...
متن کاملThe Shallow End: Empowering Shallower Deep-Convolutional Networks through Auxiliary Outputs
Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) with very deep architectures, such as the residual network (ResNet) [6], have shown encouraging results in various tasks in computer vision and machine learning. Their depth has been one of the key factors behind the great success of CNNs, with the gradient vanishing issue having been largely addressed by ResNet. However, there are other issues associated wi...
متن کاملAnisotropic Diffusion-based Kernel Matrix Model for Face Liveness Detection
Facial recognition and verification is a widely used biometric technology in security system. Unfortunately, face biometrics is vulnerable to spoofing attacks using photographs or videos. In this paper, we present an anisotropic diffusion-based kernel matrix model (ADKMM) for face liveness detection to prevent face spoofing attacks. We use the anisotropic diffusion to enhance the edges and boun...
